The Beijing Key Laboratory of Drug Delivery Technology and Novel Formulations, was established on the basis of the Doctoral Program of Pharmacy of the Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and approved in May 2011 by Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology. There are more than 50 scientific and technical staff members working in the Laboratory, including 6 professors, 4 associate professors, 5 doctoral supervisors and 3 master’s supervisors. Its objectives are to explore new pharmaceutical technologies and methods, new drug release carriers; break the restrictions of physical and chemical properties or pharmacokinetic characteristics on new drugs and new preparations; and build a DDS technology platform. Its ability is proved by the fact that it has completed a number of national and provincial ministerial level major fund and projects. It boasts abundant achievements in terms of talents, papers and patents, and has successfully incubated a number of independent intellectual property rights of new drugs. Its advantage lies in clinical and market-oriented innovative thinking.
