Research Interests
Xiao's group focuses on rational drug design-guided drug innovation. Both target- and ligand-oriented approaches have been exploited. The target-oriented approach mainly involves drug discovery efforts based on targets associated with metabolic diseases and malignant tumors. The ligand-oriented approach deals with structural optimization and analogue synthesis based on bioactive natural products. The group is also interested in chemoinformatic technique-guided mechanism studies as well as lead identification and optimization.
