The National Research Center for Analysis of Drugs and Metabolites was established in 1994 with the approval of the State Committee of Science and Technology, and affiliated to National Health and Family Planning Commission. It is an open research unit devoted to drugs and metabolites analysis, from research to applications, from testing to training and consulting services.
There are 36 staff members, with 20 senior research scientists, 4 Ph.D. supervisors and 9 M.Sc. supervisors. Currently, the Center is furnished with more than 70 sets of large sophisticated analytical instruments and experimental equipment. The Center’s main task is to develop new techniques and new methods in pharmaceutical analysis according to the national needs for R&D of new drugs. Due to the Center’s consistent efforts, an integrated research system and technical platform has been built for mass spectrometry analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, in vitro and in vivo drug metabolism analysis, drug quality analysis, etc . . As a result, it is considered to be a great contribution to the development of drug discovery and pharmaceutical industry.
The Center acquired the metrology accreditation certificate in 1997 for the first time. In 2008, it has passed the field examination and verification and acquired the laboratory accreditation certificate and the metrology accreditation certificate. Every operation in the Center runs according to SOPs. The technology and management system is based on international standards and an advanced domestic level has been attained for drug analysis and quality control. Through all certified analysis items the Center is able to provide quality services for the community.
