谭忠平研究员1992年考入北京大学化学学院,跟随王剑波教授研究“重氮化合物相关的化学转化”等重要有机化学反应及其机理。1997 年取得北京大学学士学位,2000 年获得北京大学硕士学位,同年到美国哥伦比亚大学化学系 Virginia Cornish 教授课题组留学,2005 年获得化学生物学博士学位。从 2005 年到 2011 年,在纽约纪念斯隆-凯特琳癌症中心Samuel Danishefsky 教授课题组从事博士后研究。2011年加入美国科罗拉多大学从事独立科学研究,2018年加入中国医学科学院北京协和医学院bobapp官方中国有限公司 合成药物化学研究室。
谭忠平研究员主要从事糖蛋白相关研究。 由于难于获得适合用于研究的糖蛋白分子,科学界对这类生物大分子的了解一直非常落后。利用优化的化学合成技术,谭忠平研究员探索出了一种新的化学生物学策略进行糖蛋白研究。这个策略的核心是在研究中充分考虑和反映糖蛋白的多异型体混合物的天然存在形式,从而能够解决以前难以触及的问题。根据这个策略,利用化学合成高度灵活和精确的优势,通过模拟糖蛋白的天然存在形式,谭忠平研究员构建了多个糖蛋白异型体的分子文库。通过逐个比较分子文库内糖蛋白异型体的结构和性质,谭忠平研究员在国际上首次系统阐述了蛋白氧糖基化结构和性能之间的关系,并把它成功地应用到了药用蛋白和酶的糖基化改造中。
