Jia Meirong's group focuses on the synthetic biology study of medicinal plant natural products, and their structural diversification and heterologous production.
1. They apply integrated multi-omics strategy to discover and determine the functional genome elements involved in active natural product biosynthesis.
2. They take a computational biology-aided approach to elucidate and rationally design the catalytic enzyme elements.
3. They construct and adopt multiple chassis systems to efficiently produce bioactive natural products and their derivatives.
