Research Interests
Bioactive natural products are an important source for new drug development. The structural complexity and biological activity of natural products provide inspiration and driving force for new drug discovery. However, there are still many problems for the study of natural products remain unresolved. Preparation of natural products via organic synthesis is an effective solution to solve insufficient source of natural products. Natural products and analogs are synthesized by different synthetic methods, for subsequent medicinal chemistry and chemical biology studies, with the aim of obtaining new clinical candidates for treating diseases.
Currently Li Guang's group is focusing on:
1. Total synthesis of natural products with structural complexity and significant biological activity.
2. Development of efficient and novel synthetic methodology based on the natural products skeleton.
3. Medicinal chemistry and chemical biology studies for the natural products and their analogues.
