Research Interests
The main research direction of the Yuan Yuhe group is to explore the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease (PD) based on cell and animal models, and to develop innovative drugs for the treatment of PD. According to their projects, the specific research contents are as follows:
1. Research on the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease: The group focuses on the related pathogenic genes to study the pathogenesis of PD. At present, based on the theories of neuroinflammation, brain-gut axis, prion protein, etc., they are studying the relationship and mechanism of a-synuclein (a-synuclein) and the orphan nuclear receptor Nurr1, to provide the theoretical basis for the development of drugs against PD.
2. Research on innovative drugs for anti-Parkinson's disease: Guided by the current research on the pathogenesis of PD and based on the research foundation of the group, they are working to establish a variety of PD drug screening and evaluation models from the three levels of molecules, cells and animals, and cooperating with other research groups to jointly develop innovative drugs for neurodegenerative diseases.
